Dear mum

Dear mum, Gender is not determined by your chromosomes. That is sex. You have a mind, and this is what determines your gender. Not any physical characteristics.  You can't tell it by blood tests or genitalia. It is determined by who you are inside, not who you look like from the outside. Gender does matter. I wish it didn't,  that no-one would bat an eyelid if you were male or female or both or neither. But they do. So it is important that the right gender is recognised legally. Imagine if your gender was written as male instead of female. That would make you uncomfortable,  wouldn't it? Because it's not you. It's the same with me. With man

As he roared and swung it down towards her head, she noticed to her horror something that she hadn’t seen last time. The shovel was covered at the end with a dark sticky substance that was probably blood. She wondered what –or who- had had the last unfortunate encounter with it. This was the last thing she thought before the world around her went black and she slumped to the ground. He lowered the shovel. Nothing stirred. At least, not anymore. The few creatures that may have shouted a warning were lying on the floor, slumped as if

The light at the end of the tunnel (chapter 3)

Sherlock leant over John's shoulder at 221b Baker Street and read the words at the top of the page. It said 'the silver blade'. "What're you doing?" "Writing my blog." "Well keep it to the science this time. It doesn't need to be sensational. And what do you need a title for?" "Sherlock, people actually read this stuff. This is what they want, not 142 types of tobacco ash." Sherlock stalked away and sat down in a chair opposite John, obviously annoyed by this last statement. But before he could say anything, there was a ping from his phone. He took it out of his inside coat pocket and held it out in front of him. "It's from Lestrade," he
